I like to collect video games. And I like talking about dumb things that come with collecting video games. So this article is dedicated to that hobby. A hobby that unfortunately means I probably won't retire, oh well!
Here I want to share a timeline of my collection, which includes screenshots and photos of my collection as time goes on and some pickups I get every once in a while. Also including some quotes from various friend groups I'm in with each photo. I hope you enjoy reading this weird little hobby that I have.

I had just received my Psychonauts copy by winning an auction mere seconds before it ended. And later got more Xbox games. With Xbox games being incredibly cheap, you'll see them a LOT!
> Here’s my current collection so far.
> Behind Psychonauts is games like Pacman World 2, the Bungie-era Halo series, L.A Noire that just came in today, and Sonic Generations!
This was a gift from an online friend who I had just met up with. My first online friend I met up in real life too! They wanted to play Mario Wonder, and decided to gift it to me as a special occasion.
> I WON VIDEO GAMES!
My roommate and I checked out a very very small game store, in there I got Plants Vs. Zombies.
My roommate got Mario Kart DS... and for me a game metaphorically found at the bottom of the bargin bin.
> [roommate] got me frogger the great quest
> why
Just an update on the collection so far.
> Collection so far
Bought myself a Playstation, and I got a copy of the Japanese version of Parappa The Rapper. Later, I got myself a modded memory card to play region-locked games.
I had to return the Playstation, partially because of lack of usage. Partially because the spinner and audio was broken.
It was priced less than what is usually the asking price. So take this word of advice collectors; if the price is too good to be true, either because it is, or there is some kind of caveat. Ask your seller before buying!
Hoooo' boy. This one's a doozy. The case isn't actually official, it's a reproduction. The disc *alone* was already expensive.
And it was more affordable to just get the official disk and get a reproduction case to along with it. It's incredibly high quality so that's a plus.
Personally, I think using Reproduction cases, manuals, etc. is okay. It's your collection! Just don't claim it is the real thing. Especially when going to sell it.

Here we are, I had just left the nest and moved in with my roommate. We combined our game collections as seen here!
Most of the Switch, Xbox, Xbox 360 and half of the Wii games are mine. Most of the Playstation and all of the PS3 and PS4 games are my roommates, as well as the 3DS and DSi games (off-screen).
For the keen eye'd among you... (bonus points if you're a Cave Story fan)
Yes, that is a plush of Quote! Not official, it's custom made.

Some Wii U pickups at a Game Store.
Me and my roommate went out to a Goodwill on a whim. Didn't expect to find anything special as with most Goodwills.
Then I checked the PC games, found this. I remember thinking "Huh... why is Ape Escape here?", pulled it out and nearly shat my pants in disbelief.
It was only 5$. Instantly bought it.
I also bought a chair...
> Me and [friend] found a copy of Ape Escape from Goodwill for an astounding 5$
Went on a shopping spree on eBay.
> Wii games I got with my birthday money !
As the date implies, this was a christmas gift by a friend of mine from Canada. She was extremely kind enough to give me Tomodachi life after I realized how absurd it costs.
She didn't get into it, and had no reason to have it anymore. So she gave it to me. Thank you very much if she is reading this!
> Thank you, [friend]!
A late christmas gift from some of our friends. Included was Sonic Adventure and a Dreamcast.
I had a two week Dreamcast hyperfixation after this... I want Seaman.
> Late christmas gift from [roommate]'s friends :]
Got some really cheap games at an Antiques shop that I was recommended by a store employee.
> Stuff I got at an antiques shop!
Needed to fix a shelf, so I thought it would be fun to make a pile of our games. Can you tell that I'm neurodivergent?
> Moving/fixing my shelf. Here’s a pile of our games.
Earlier I mentioned the 3DS and DSi games, here they are. The same day I took this picture I bought some Wii games after an eBay splurge.

I have a friend working at GameStop, while I stopped to visit for games, he mentioned there was a sale for the Super Mario RPG.
I wasn't going to find a better deal of this anywhere, especially in new condition, at least not for a long time. So... shamefully, I had to.
> Friend who works at GameStop hooked me up with a deal; 20$ for this
> Even if I’m indifferent or don’t like the game, 20$ for a game that loose is 27 is really good.
Got into CRTs... I got this on Facebook Marketplace with a Remote. When we met up, he gave us some Baja Blast to take home. A true jamer...
I love this thing... It's small but perfect to fit on a desk. Maybe a little smaller than need be, it'll be difficult to read things on the screen, but good enough for me.
Also! Here's a picture of me playing Halo CE on it.
Sorry for the bad photo...
> Hit up someone with a CRT. Gonna go get it here pretty soon.
> Ain’t she a beaut
Had a budget of 100$, I think I spent it well. Totally...
After realizing I need a memory card to save data, the store employee decided to give me one for free. So thank you to that store employee if they are reading this!
> Owch my wallet ;-;
> And a free memory card from the employee because /shrug
This is currently ongoing, and it will always be changing. But as of now this is all I've got! I hope to update this frequently overtime, but as of now this is the end.
Thank you for reading!
